A conversation last night pushed me into a place of righteous outrage.
When someone tells you to “govern yourself accordingly” before criticizing elected officials, that’s not civic maturity. That’s manufactured consent.
And it’s exactly what I write about in The Synthetic Empire.
Democracy is not obedience.
Democracy is not silence.
Democracy is accountability.
